St. George’s Church Wilton

A delightful Church set in the small farming village of Wilton, just 2 miles east of Thornton le Dale

St. George’s is the “modern” church of our parish, being built in the early 20th century, but is traditional in design. Parts of the internal stonework however, date back to the 13th century and of particular interest is the Norman Tub Font.

The church is very much the centre of the farming community, particularly for all the agricultural festivals that take place during the year.

Everybody is very welcome to any of the services, details of which can be found on the notice board in the church porch, or the churchwarden can be contacted on: 01751 476709.

With majestic views over the Vale of Pickering from the south side, St. George's church is situated at the end of the main street which is off the A170 (Pickering to Scarborough) road.

There is usually ample car parking space and apart from one step (a ramp is available) access is on one level.
