Thornton-Le-Dale Players

Some 65 years ago a few ladies in the Women's Institute formed a group to put on plays presumably for the entertainment of their fellow members. As more people became interested in taking part, they decided to become a separate society which they named Thornton Dale Players. The society usually performs at least one major production each year, in the Village Hall, during November. We also occasionally provide entertainment for other organisation and charities in the village.

In spring and summer we arrange play readings and we are always very pleased to welcome new faces to these fascinating and often hilarious evenings. We arrange various social events during the year such as theatre outings, or buffet supper with our own brand of entertainment.

Interested in getting involved?

If you have even the slightest interest in Amateur Dramatics why not come to one of our play readings? We don't have auditions, we don't have screen tests, we just have fun. Please see our notice board outside Wardill Bros, Newsagents, for future activities including Play Reading Dates.

At present we have approximately 20 members and the very generous support of 45 patrons, but we do need more people to help us with the many jobs involved in putting on a play.  lf you think you could help, on stage, back stage, front of house, technical know-how or just lift and carry, please send an email using the form at the bottom of this page.
