Thornton-le-Dale Village Hub

Thornton-le-Dale Village Hub is a group of volunteers in the village who get involved in initiating, planning and delivering a range of activities that will enhance and maintain the environment in the local community.

 

The Hub has many activities including:

 

Litter Picking and Kerbside Cleaning Project

Volunteers meet at the Hill Memorial Institute, Maltongate followed by a cuppa and cakes. We provide yellow luminous jacket, litter picker tools and bags. If you would like to do kerbside cleaning please bring any items that you have (e.g. broom, hoe, etc).

Pond Project

Volunteers clear the pond/pond area and are involved in several improvement initiatives that are in progress.

 
Village in Bloom Project


Volunteers participate in a an initiative which aims to increase and enhance the range and number of floral displays in the village.


Rail Painting


Preparation and Painting of the village railings has been completed with over 650m of rails and 240 posts stripped and painted, with future touch-up painting as required.
