Thornton le Dale ‘Spins’ up £3400 for Charities

In a superb community effort, 48 riders ‘geared up’ to raise money for charities on Sunday 30 April outside the New Inn at Thornton le Dale.

The Cycle Spin lasted for 12 hours using two ‘Spin’ bikes, with riders pedalling for 30 minutes each. The amount raised was £3400 which was donated to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and two local charities (Manthorpe Park and Thornton Le Dale Village Hall).

Roger Sharples, the organiser, would like to thank the riders and their sponsors, PACE cycles, Peter Nelson Fitness Studios (for loaning the spin bikes), local businesses and individuals for their donations of raffle prizes and everyone who assisted in making this event such a success.
