The Methodist Chapel

The Methodist Chapel is situated in the centre of Thornton Le Dale near to the green, on Maltongate (opposite the Post Office - Post Code: YO18 7RJ). The Chapel was built in 1909 and has seating for 180 people, there is also an adjoining hall at the rear of the Chapel. The hall is a able to accommodate large numbers of people for functions, concerts, groups/clubs, funerals etc. and has a well equipped kitchen.

 

The Chapel is very active and is also used by local groups, in addition to worship. Some of our events are: 

 

  • Sunday services – every week  at 10.30am

 

  • Weekly Prayer meeting – Tuesdays at 9.00 am

 

  • Bible Study –  fortnightly on Thursdays at 10.30 am   

 

  • The Ladies Group (church members and villagers) - First Thursday of each month at 7.30pm

 

  • ‘Coffee Break’ – every Tuesday morning – villagers and visitors meet for friendship and a chat.

 

  • Fair Trade Stall – ‘Churches Together’ initiative in conjunction with the Church of England occurs on the second Tuesday each month during ‘Coffee Break’

 

  • External groups regularly meet in the Chapel hall
