Bridgefoot Guest House

Bridgefoot House is a VisitEngland Silver and Breakfast Award winning Guest House, situated by the trout stream next to the famous thatched cottage in the pretty North York Moors National Park village of Thornton-le-Dale.

This classic 17th Century Country House is next to the famous Beck Isle Cottage, which is one of the most photographed cottages in the UK and often featured on jigsaws, chocolate boxes and calendars.

The house was built for the school master at the grammar school set up by Lady Lumley. The wonderful bay window was put in place in 1901 and is a familiar land mark in the village. Bridgefoot House still retains the features and charm of its long history.

We offer comfortable non smoking accommodation to visitors to this area of outstanding natural beauty. After a good night’s sleep, you can enjoy your chosen Yorkshire breakfast in our elegant dining room overlooking the garden, before embarking on your day’s activities.

Bridgefoot House has a family room (sleeps 2+1) with the bay window and overlooks the garden, a family room (sleeps 2+2) overlooking the garden and beck and a ground floor family room (sleeps 2+1) with its own entrance and private facilities.  These rooms can also be used as twin rooms.  There is one further twin room with garden view and five double/single rooms.   All rooms are en-suite.  Our guests can enjoy hospitality tray, Freeview TV, clock radio and hairdryer.

Free WI-FI is available, off road parking, secure bicycle lock-up and drying facilities for outdoor clothes.

You can be sure of a very warm welcome at Bridgefoot House and you can be sure we will be doing all we can to make your visit a pleasant experience.
